Along with fading of their clothing, the hair and vinyl coloring can also change. Always store vinyl dolls in a cool place. Heat will darken the vinyl. Use a mild soap and water on a soft cloth to clean your vinyl doll. Rub gently any soiled areas, then follow with a clean damp cloth to remove cleaning residue. If you need to clean small areas such as between fingers and toes, use a Q-tip or soft brush. Never use chlorine bleach or products containing chlorine on vinyl or plastic dolls. This will destroy the skin coating. | TEDDY BEAR TIPS Teddy Bears & Fund-Raisers Teddy bears are often sold to raise funds for various charities, and also given as symbols of comfort. One of the best-known teddy bear-related charities is Good Bears of the World. GBW was founded in 1969 by the late journalist and radio pioneer James Theodore Ownby. The organization exists primarily to donate bears to those in need--hospitalized children, institutionalized seniors, and accident and disaster victims. The group also gifts bears to fire and police departments to help officers comfort children in traumatic situations. Due to safety considerations, GBW only gives new, specially designed and manufactured teddy bears, but the group accepts donations of collectibles to sell at fund-raising raffles and auctions.
