Video tutorial: How to create a ruffle

Chica and Jo continue their Sewing 101 video tutorial series with a video showing how to make a basic ruffle.  If you’ve never made a ruffle before, you’ll be happy to know that this is actually a fairly easy technique.  Once you master it, you’ll be adding ruffles to everything around you.  Go to the tutorial.

Simplify cutwork with Fiber Etch

Threads is touting the use of Fiber Etch to simplify the process of creating cutwork embroidery. A Threads blog post says,

Using synthetic embroidery thread, you can embroider a plant-fiber fabric. Just apply a thin layer of Fiber Etch to the fabric that you want to remove, let it dry, rinse or brush it out, and watch the fibers disappear.
