Dear Sugarloaf Community,

cabbage, or maybe by hoisting a glass for a toast) reminded me of how many Sugarloaf
artists incorporate design motifs from Irish culture into their eclectic collections.

see their fantastic work is at the upcoming Sugarloaf Crafts Festival in Oaks, just
outside Philadelphia. They are among the 300 exceptional craftspeople who will be

Daniel Riccio: Ireland is peppered with ancient castles and steeped in lore, which
Daniel reveals in his medieval miniatures. His line of intricate metal sculptures,
including castles, dragons, and coats of arms, aren't much larger than pocket change.

Robert Piland: Though his interest in jewelry-making was sparked while living in
Japan, Robert's style is classically Celtic. His jewelry is a celebration of the
art and culture of his ancestors and draws inspiration from Celtic knotwork and
forms of Scottish and Irish artifacts, as well as stones, pottery and metalwork.
A favorite is his claddagh ring - a traditional Irish wedding ring depicting two

Ken Kantro: Ken's passion manifests itself in every piece of his jewelry. Initially
fascinated by the work of 18th century pewterers, he redirected his skill to illustrate
his appreciation of nature - creating designs ranging from shells to trees and birds.

Judy Peterson: Judy's wooden puzzles are inspired by creatures of medieval folklore
-dragons! Her puzzles are fun to play with and make beautiful art when all the pieces
are fitted together. Her original designs are whimsical, and the coloration and
grain of the wood is preserved for a rustic look.
