The Handmade Marketplace:
How to Sell Crafts Locally, Globally, and Online
By Kari Chapin
Wish you could make money from your crafts? Trying to sell your crafts in shows and online but need help? Then pick up a copy of The Handmade Marketplace. There are few things I like most about this book :
- completely up-to-date
- very comprehensive
- fun to read
The Handmade Marketplace was published this year and is thoroughly up to date. The author relied on a group of successful crafters, many of which you will recognize or should check out. The advice on how to set-up shop, what and where to sell is current and repesents a diversity of crafters.
Even if you have never sold your crafts before, I feel sure that you can do it after reading this book. It literally covers every topic that you may have been wondering about and some you didn’t know you needed. If you’re already selling, you will probably find some helpful info here since the book covers topics like branding, marketing, finance, online communities, blogging, advertising, podcasting, social media, craft fairs, online stores, brick and mortar stores and more.
While The Handmade Marketplace is chock-full of information, it is fun to read. There are lots of short articles and tips throughout from crafters who’ve “been there, done that” and are still doing it.
