Posted: 14 Jul 2010 05:56 AM PDT

Isn’t that a great headline?  First you do what?  Well, back on the theme of recycling/repurposing, I ran across a couple of re-fashion sites.  These struck my fancy since I recently attended the Green With Envy craft show here in St. Louis where every item for sale or display was made with recycled (upcycled) materials.  There seems to be a…

I already have a store bought kid tent that is pretty rad. It pops up in like 5 seconds and breaks down in another 5 seconds and ends up being a little larger than a folded up umbrella. It’s good for taing to the beach.

But I really like this simple DIY kid pup tent tutorial over on the Ready Made…

Fabric bunting done well like these three strands for sale at Knotted Nest Etsy is a great addition to any room’s decor. Stringing these up is as popular as ever yet lately I’ve seen bunting branch out a little. Yesterday I spied a pillow cover with appliqued bunting at Sewing at Craft Gossip. And today I found bunting on a baby quilt at Luv In The Mommy Hood shared by guest…

Review and Giveaway: The Sewing Answer Book

Posted: 13 Jul 2010 09:35 AM PDT

When I was learning to sew, I kept my mother on speed-dial so she could answer my random sewing questions as they arose.  “Uhh, Mom?  The pattern is asking for something called interfacing.  What is that?  And why do I need it?”  or “How can I keep that facing from peeking out at the neck?”   Her advice was invaluable in…
